Star Swimming Academy Student Raising Money For The Alzheimer’s Society

Everyone at the Star Swimming Academy would like to say good luck to one our learn to swim students (William), who is participating in a fundraising event to raise a fantastic amount of money for a special charity that is close to his heart.

William, who is only 7 years old, will swim 1 mile over the month of February in our Seascope Maritime Pool. he will swim 201 widths of his Swimming Club’s pool. He will do this at his own pace as much as he can week by week. His Learn To Swim Instructors will be on hand to provide encouragement and support during his fund raising effort.

William’s nanny was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s back in 2019. At the time William was too young to understand. As he has grown older and learnt more about the disease, he has decided he wants to do all he can to help. He wants to help Scientists develop a medicine to one day cure Alzheimer’s forever. For now he pledges to swim for his Nanny Chrissy and donate all funds raised to Alzheimer’s Society who are transforming the landscape of dementia forever.
