Lesson Terms and Conditions

By commencing lessons with Star Swimming Academy Ltd, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

Before the commencement of your child’s swimming lesson and after the swimming lesson has finished, you are responsible for your child.

During your child’s swimming lesson, the Star Swimming Academy instructor will be responsible for your child, though please stay in the parent’s waiting area to supervise your child on bathroom breaks etc. as required, regardless of the age of your child.

You must ensure that your child does not enter the pool hall and under no circumstance should your child enter the pool until instructed to do so by the Star Swimming Academy instructor.

Please ensure that your child does not run or play on poolside before or after your child’s class.

You are responsible for your child within the changing rooms, please do not leave children unattended in the changing rooms.

Long hair must be tied back or held within a swim cap.

A towel or hooded towel should be ready to wrap your child in at the end of each lesson.

Children should avoid having food immediately before their class. If your child is hungry before their swimming class then a small healthy snack is permissible, though please note that vomiting in the pool will result in cancelled classes due to pool evacuations.

Food is prohibited within the pool hall.

Children must not attend lessons for a minimum of 48hrs after suffering from vomiting or diarrhoea.

Swimmers suffering from chest, ear or eye infections should not swim until they have completely cleared.

Participants are not permitted to swim with any infectious ailments such as chickenpox or whooping cough until the infectious period has definitely finished.

All babies/toddlers who are not potty trained must wear swim nappies. Star Swimming Academy has a double nappy policy for our parent and child classes where your child must wear a nappy cover over their disposable swim nappy. Nappies must be disposed of appropriately after your child’s swimming lesson.

You are at risk of losing your space in the class if you fail to pay your course fees when notified.

Payment should be made either by cheque or bank transfer.

Star Swimming Academy does not operate a policy of lesson credits or refunds for children or adults, who fail to attend their classes. If a class is missed for an unavoidable or unexpected reason, please speak to us and where we can we will offer a goodwill catch up class during the same term if possible.

Star Swimming Academy does not offer refunds for swimming training services. In exceptional medical circumstances in which a valid doctor’s certificate must be provided, refunds may be granted.

Fees paid to Star Swimming Academy in respect of swimming training services comprise 30% administration and business costs and 70% tuition fee. In the event of a refund being awarded only the tuition fee will be refunded on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of the payment term from the date that the refund was requested.

On occasions teachers may be replaced to cover staff annual leave and staff sickness.
